The Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering Wagon Train is one of the last authentic wagon trains. Numerous wagons from all over come to participate in this cowboy train. They head out early before the event to make their ride through Texas, stopping at different ranches to camp for the night then continue on their way till they reach the Fort Worth Stockyards. Thursday afternoon The Stockyards and festival attendees will welcome the trail riders home as they have an exciting entrance into the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District.
Wagon Train Schedule
Wagon Train leaves Jacksboro Sunday, October 23, travels to Perrin, Mineral Wells, Weatherford, Azle and arrives in the Stockyards on Thursday, October 27st.

Cowboy hats are required. You must ride 5 days to receive your button. There is no charge for Wagon Drivers. Thank you so much for your participation. The Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering would not be the same without y'all!
NOTE: This is a heritage ride. You must wear western clothing. Wagons MUST BE Wooden Spoke Wheels, NO RUBBER CAR TIRE WAGONS.
No ball caps, tennis shoes or t-shirts. The Wagon Train does not provide horses, tack, wagons, gear, etc. You must bring all you will need for the ride including food. Shoes with Borium are recommended. The cost is $10.00 per day, per rider.
Negative Coggins are YOUR responsibility; please have them with you.



Weatherford Goes Red
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, October 25th! Weatherford Goes Red in Heritage Park at 5:00pm. Help kick off the Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering in Weatherford with the arrival of the Wagon Train, Youth Fiddler Extravaganza and at 7:00pm the Western Swing Concert. Free to the public come listen to the world's best western music artists, cowboy poets, fiddle players, and grab some dinner at a local food truck.
